Feb 20th

I always like to start of the morning by taking a picture of KJ. It is just a constant reminder of how blessed i am to have him and he is always very very happy when he wakes up. More often than not i have to sneak a picture when he isn't looking because he is camera shy sometimes but today he let me take this one. He will only look at me long enough to say cheese and then he looks back at whatever he was doing before i bothered him with the picture so i waited until he wasn't moving and then snapped this one. I love him more than anything.

So today we took Aunt H and a few other girls to dance. Now you might be asking what this has to do with the picture but KJ is in love with one of Aunt H's friends, Kenzie. He is so cute and when she is around he is so shy. He wont even talk to her, no matter how much attention she gives him he wont say a word to anyone. Once she got out of the car he was so sad. He said "Daddy, go with Kenzie" I told him that we couldn't because she was dancing and he was very upset that we couldn't follow her so i tried to distract him by telling him to look at the Mountains. Well he decided that he wanted to climb the Mountain and since it was probably the only way to get him from talking about Kenzie, i decided that we could go and try to hike the Y (which i have never done and i've lived in Provo my whole life) This picture is at the gate at the front of the trail.

So i honestly didn't think that we would make it very far because it isn't like playing in the park, it's a pretty steep hike. This little guy didn't want me to carry him or help him at all. He was keeping up with me the whole first part of the hike. I made him hold my hand so that if he slipped or tripped on the rocks, he wouldn't fall all the way down the hill. He surprised me but then again, he surprises me almost every day with how amazing he is.

We got to a point where the sunny never really hits the trail and it was pretty steep and covered with ice so i told him that it was time to ride on Daddy's shoulders. He didn't like the idea of not being able to walk on his own but he decided that it would be ok as long as we could keep going up the mountain.

He is so photogenic. We got some good ones while we walked. He would say his to everyone we passed or that passed us on their way down. He is just such a happy kid. He would see someone and lean down to my ear and say "Daddy, look at the guy or Daddy, look it's a girl." and then when they would pass us he would say "hey dude, hey dude or hey guy" The funny thing is that if it was a girl it was, hey dude. haha. They would always laugh so hard and then he would start laughing.

On our way back down he kept asking me to put him down so that we could take a picture. He would always pick places that we couldn't get to because it was too dangerous but i finally talked him into this spot. He didn't want to sit on a rock though or in a clear space, he wanted to sit on a big plant. I couldn't talk him out of it and decided that it probably didn't hurt anything to just let him sit where he wanted to and while he was enjoying looking at things i got a few pictures. The sun was setting and it was a lot of fun for him to point and tell me what was going on all over the valley. He is so observant.

We had to run to the store to get some things for dinner and of course he wanted to ride in the cart with the car on the front of it so that he could drive. He kept honking at people and saying "beep, beep! Move please or Excuse me!" Like i said, he is so observant...He definitely learned that from his Mommy. She loves to beep beep at people ;)

KJ is always so full of energy! He loves running around and around and in fact he will start running and then say "Come on Daddy! Run around and around, Come on Daddy!" The camera is shaky but it was so much fun!

While we were at the store getting things for dinner we also got some Juice Bars (popsicles) and we shared one after we were all ready for bed. He wanted to hold it but he did a great job of sharing with me.
